Red Mangrove Maze

Turner River, Big Cypress National Preserve, Ochopee, Florida

Red Mangrove Maze

Nancy is canoeing on a particularly tight stretch of the Turner River. We launched the canoe on the south side of Tamiami Trail (US-41) as it crossed the Turner River just east of Ochopee. This is on our way to Collier-Seminole State Parkwebsite, where we would be tent camping and exploring on both bike and foot trails for the weekend.

The Photographer

Bruce on Turner River

Bruce, although an important part of the Bee Happy Graphics team in his technical support role, doesn't actually consider himself a photographer.

This picture of Bruce was taken by the subject of "Red Mangrove Maze" just a little while before the subject picture was taken.

This image is being used in our blog to illustrate a technique for straightening an image. See Answers To 'Is This Picture Level?.

Photographic details: Same camera and lens set at 25mm. Flash was not used. At ISO 1600, camera was set for 1/125 second on shutter priority, resulting in an aperture of f/22. Exposure was decreased one stop in post-processing.
