The Santa Fe College Spring Arts Festival will be in Gainesville the weekend of April 11th.

This festival, which the promoter, Santa Fe College, claims is “North Central Florida’s oldest and finest annual springtime arts celebration”1 will be along NE 1st Street between 3rd and 6th Avenues.  Saturday’s hours are from 9 am to 5:30 pm, but Sunday’s times don’t start until noon.  According to their website (, there will be more to experience than just art, including a Saturday evening concert.  This will be our first year at this festival (we applied two years ago, but didn’t make it off the waiting list).  We are expecting an excellent show.

1.  Although this claim has too many qualifiers to impress me, the numbers speak for themselves.  This year, their 46th, they are expecting 110,000 visitors to 190 exhibitors.

Although I grew up in Garden Grove, California, I have lived here in South Miami longer than I've lived anywhere else in the world. I've been married to my wonderful wife, Nancy, longer than I was ever without her. We were both teachers. Nancy recently retired after 40 years. I have also spent time as an officer in the Coast Guard, a commercial property appraiser, and an electrical engineering student. Now I'm technical support for Bee Happy Graphics. That means I handle this blog, our web page, and all E-mail, I do all post-processing and printing of the images, I cut mats and glass and frames. If you have a technical question, I would be the one trying to answer it.

Your "two cents worth" is welcome (but I don't give change).
