This will be our seventh time at this art festival in Fernandina Beach in eight art festival seasons. As I’ve mentioned beforeprevious, Amelia Island goes all out for this festival with parades, pageants, fireworks, etc. They are expecting around 135 thousand visitors this year. The art festival part is open from 9 am to 6 pm on Saturday, May 4th and on Sunday from 10 to 5. Come find us in Booth 204. For more information, see their website (www.shrimpfestival.com).
We are happy to be participating in this festival for the sixth time. Fernandina Beach goes all out for their Shrimp Festival. The Art Festival will be free to the public from 9 am to 6 pm on Saturday, May 5th, and from 10 to 5 on Sunday. They are expecting around 120 thousand visitors to about 320 artists along Centre Street in the historic business district as far east as 8th Street, and about a block on each side of Centre Street along all side streets. This year we will be in Booth S307 on 3rd Street south of Centre Street. During the art festival, there will also be antiques and live entertainment. Besides the art festival, there will be an ice cream eating contest, the Pirate In Training contest, the Little Pirates contest, the Topsy Smith Memorial beard contest, the decorated shrimp boat contest, the Shrimp Festival Parade (on the preceding Thursday), the Miss Shrimp Festival Pageant, a 5k run (or three alternatives), and fireworks. In March, you can go to their website (www.shrimpfestival.com) to make sure I didn’t leave something out.
