We just got back from the Lutz Arts & Crafts Festival in Odessa, Floridaannounced, where Nancy received her second award in less than a month. This is exciting! The image earning the award was God’s Artistry. Last year Nancy received 2nd Place in Photography at this same festivalannounced.
Interestingly, Timothy Hall, the gentleman we highlighted for receiving the highest award in our category at the Temple Terrace Arts & Crafts Festival last month announced, received 2nd Place in Photography this time.
On two different weekends in that month, our panoramic image of a sunset in the Everglades was selected for consideration of an award. On the first weekend in November, it was the Halifax show, where we did win an award in 2013. Then on the last weekend of the month, it was selected in the Space Coast Art Festival. Unfortunately, on neither occasion did it actually receive an award. Shucks! We would still like to thank the judges for considering us.
We won an Honorable Mention award last weekend. I don’t know exactly what the award was for; the judges showed some interest in a number of pieces, like God’s Artistry (http://www.beehappygraphics.com/gallery/godsartistry.html), Oak Tree Graveyard (http://www.beehappygraphics.com/gallery/oakgraveyard.html), Emerging Monarch (http://www.beehappygraphics.com/gallery/emergingmonarch.html), Painted Bunting Pair (http://www.beehappygraphics.com/gallery/buntingpair.html), and Pineland Fog (http://www.beehappygraphics.com/gallery/pinelandfog.html), but they didn’t mention a specific image when presenting the award. In some shows, it’s the whole body of your work that is considered.
That’s the second year in a row that we’ve won that award at this festival. Wow, that’s neat. Soon, you should be able to see our picture on their website (I’m guessing that it should be on the same page as last year ( http://www.woodstockartsfest.com/woodstock/winners.html). Maybe next year we’ll win the grand prize. Maybe someday we’ll be famous. One can only dream . . . .
