We Will Return to the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival April 30th

After taking a one-year break, we will be ending our season again in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island at one of our favorite festivals.  This will be our fourth time here and their 53rd year.   The Fine Arts & Crafts Show is free to the public, and is open on Saturday, April 30th from 9 am to 7 pm, and on Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.  Amelia Island seems to take their festivals seriously. Other activities include a beauty pageant, a boat parade, and the Pirate Parade.  For complete schedules and other information, go to the festival web site, www.shrimpfestival.com, after they’ve had a chance to get it ready.  The festival will be held in the Historic business district (along Centre Street and about a block on all side streets as far east as 8th Street).  We will be in Booth 319 on the south side of Centre Street.  They expect well over 100,000 visitors to see around 320 booths.  Maybe we’ll see you there.

Although I grew up in Garden Grove, California, I have lived here in South Miami longer than I've lived anywhere else in the world. I've been married to my wonderful wife, Nancy, longer than I was ever without her. We were both teachers. Nancy recently retired after 40 years. I have also spent time as an officer in the Coast Guard, a commercial property appraiser, and an electrical engineering student. Now I'm technical support for Bee Happy Graphics. That means I handle this blog, our web page, and all E-mail, I do all post-processing and printing of the images, I cut mats and glass and frames. If you have a technical question, I would be the one trying to answer it.

Your "two cents worth" is welcome. I don't give change.
