We will be back in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island for one of our favorite festivals.  This will be our third time here.   The Fine Arts & Crafts Show is free to the public, and is open on Saturday, May 3rd from 9 am to 6 pm (although we could stay past sunset), and on Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.  Other activities start with the Shrimp Festival Pirate Parade at 6 pm on Thursday evening (May 1st).  For complete schedules and other information, go to the festival web site (www.shrimpfestival.com).  For a list of artists, go to the web site of the festival organizers, Island Art Association, and on the menu at the top of the page go to Shrimp Festival > Exhibit Locator.  The festival will be held in the Historic business district (along Centre Street and about a block on all side streets as far east as 8th Street).  We will be in Booth 2 on North 3rd Street.  They expect well over 100,000 visitors to about 320 booths.  Maybe we’ll see you there.

Although I grew up in Garden Grove, California, I have lived here in South Miami longer than I've lived anywhere else in the world. I've been married to my wonderful wife, Nancy, longer than I was ever without her. We were both teachers. Nancy recently retired after 40 years. I have also spent time as an officer in the Coast Guard, a commercial property appraiser, and an electrical engineering student. Now I'm technical support for Bee Happy Graphics. That means I handle this blog, our web page, and all E-mail, I do all post-processing and printing of the images, I cut mats and glass and frames. If you have a technical question, I would be the one trying to answer it.

Your "two cents worth" is welcome (but I don't give change).
